events included:
Federal
Budget Process meeting. The event was
held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the
The University of Toledo Health Science Campus in the
Health Education Building. A second event was held on
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
at Bowling Green State University in the Student Union
Room 318. See

for Research and Development at The University of
Toledo, presented an overview of the federal support for
Research and Development with a particular focus on the
budget and priorities of agencies that support academic
programs as well as special funding opportunities for
faculty members at UT and BGSU. See

Meet
the Researchers Informational Meetings. The
events were held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The University of Toledo and
from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bowling Green State

(President & CEO, RGP) and Tasha Hussein Black
(Director of Technology, RGP) gave informational
presentations on how researchers can understand the
potential of their research and commercialize their
technologies or products. See

National
Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Panel. The
event was held on Thursday,
October 11, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Carlson
Library Rooms 1009 and B-59 on The University of Toledo
Main Campus and Olscamp Hall Room 109 on the Bowling
Green State University Campus. See

faculty members from The University of Toledo shared
their experiences and advice on receiving the
"early career award."
Grant
Proposal Writing Workshop. This workshop took
place on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Perrysburg,
Ohio. See

Spring
Grant
Proposal Writing Workshop. This workshop took
place on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center in Perrysburg,
Ohio. See

given on developing an idea and choosing a mentor,
finding funding - Community of Science
(COS), typical format of a proposal, outlining
objectives, outlining the narrative, outlining the
proposal evaluation, and outlining your budget.
